Datelinehealth Africa Inc., and DatelinehealthAfrica, the website (herein collectively referred to as “DLHA”) recognize potential ethical conflict may arise between receiving donations from certain types of corporations and fulfilling our non-profit health promotion and essential medicines donation programs. Therefore, the following policy is in place to guide our corporate fundraising practices.
DLHA may solicit and accept funds and sponsorships from corporations (including companies, multinational corporations, corporate foundations, small businesses, non-governmental organizations, and other corporate entities) except those from excluded industries as outlined in this section.
DLHA will not accept contributions from companies and their respective affiliates where known, as well as entities that lobby or act in any way on their behalf if the core activities of those entities may be in direct conflict with the mission and goals of DLHA as detailed here.
Excluded companies include those that derive a significant portion of their income from the production and/or sale of tobacco, alcohol, arms, pornographic materials and publication materials that promote hate and intolerance of any nature within any community of people. Excluded companies may also include pharmaceuticals (including: medicines, medical equipment, therapeutic foods, diagnostic and biotechnical materials, and research) that promote unproven treatment methods or condition giving to DLHA endorsement of products or services in any manner whatsoever. Excluded contributions include: (a) outright gift of cash, (b) corporate events, (c) donations of goods and services, (d) sponsorship or partnerships, (e) company matching gifts, and (f) recognition gifts.
The use of the DatelinehealthAfrica logo by a corporate partner must be prior approved in writing by DLHA and will be restricted in the sole determination of DLHA to appropriate uses only. Care shall be exercised to ensure that the DatelinehealthAfrica name and reputation is not harmed or diluted by excessive or inappropriate promotion.
DLHA reserves the right to refuse donations from any corporate entity and to amend the above policy from time to time.
